The Mysteries of Rúne - The Crown of Zenith
Precipice is a breathtaking capital overlooking the edge of the floating Principality of Zenith, high above the clouds. The city is a mesmerizing mix of architectural styles, blending the towering spires of elven mansions with the sturdy stone buildings of the dwarves.
The principality has one goal: to breach the Ring. Mages work tirelessly to develop new spells, often competing with a zeal to be the first to succeed. Amidst this fierce competition, the people of Precipice constantly bicker and feud over the limited resources of the island. Their precious few resources have been sources to what the Principality has dubbed Finalities. Each Finality produces one key resource to maintain the floating island. Citizens are trained from birth to hold to their Final Purpose that they will carry with them over the ring.

The vast finalities of Zenith hold to one key principle, go advance society. This is sought through focused onyx experimentation. Individuals try to augment themselves and the wildlife around them to create new and more perfected life forms. Hoping to advance their magical capabilities. Each finality focuses on its core principle. Such as Flourish creating new plant life, or Harvest creating new animals and livestock. This has led to a unified personality that emerges from each finality and the strange diversity in life that exists within the city of Precipice, as they are the melting pot of such ideas and experimentation.

The people of Precipice believe in the Goddess Firi, the One who rises. She prompts them to lift their country over the great ring and to seek out the great beyond. The Principality of Precipice took to this initiative at the start of the 500-year war. They sought forms of magical flight from the phoenix to the crystal dragons. The warriors of Precipice hunted down dragons to collect their bones in an event known as The Scourge. This is rumored to be a source of their continent's flight. Once the dragons were deemed extinct, they moved their searches elsewhere, but their rise seems to have met a standstill as of the war's end.
The streets of Precipice are often quiet, even for such a diverse place. The bells ring on the hour to mark a prayer to the goddess Firi to lift them further. The place is odd, and outspoken individuals, be it volume or ideals, are looked upon with hushed sneers of breaching the quiet of their domain.

The Citadel is a towering structure that is the seat of power in Precipice and houses the prince and his royal guard. It is hung with sashes of purple and grand grey marble spires. It stands out among the sparse variety in architecture, all holding to the grey marble standard.
The Sky Pier is a massive system of docks overlooking the cliffs of Precipice. It's a bustling hub of activity, with merchants and travelers coming and going at all hours. Once customs is reached, many visitors of Zenith don’t make it much further than these docks.
The Great Bard College is the landmark of the Expression Finality, run by the sky giant Dunja, is a prestigious institution training aspiring bards and musicians. Its students are known for their musical prowess and creativity. Receiving a study visa for the College is a great honor and one seldom overlooked, even in the greater onyx territories.
The Celestial Observatory is a massive telescope located on the highest point of Mount Zenith, allowing astronomers to study the stars and planets in great detail. This is the landmark located in the Arcane Finality.
Other notable establishments include the Finalities of Harvest, Core, Shell, Flourish, and Wellspring. Each Finality is healed to the same layout and production of basic needs. There is also the dissociated Finality of Plenty that handles dividing up and distributing the goods around the nation of Zenith. Few are welcome over their borders without scrutiny. All face foreigners with a sense of joy as they have arrived at the happiest place in Rúne, and a sense of death if they leave, as why would they choose to go back to a lesser life? The in-between spaces are undeveloped as they are to be used sparingly to maintain the ecosystem of the island.
